Stepping Back In What Should I Look At
« on: December 31, 2017, 12:49:01 PM »
Hey everyone,
I've been out of the game for awhile and I'm looking to jump back in, I've noticed Small Scale Down Under is no longer which is a shame as some will mainly know me from there.

I'm not sure what to go with now these days as I haven't really kept up with what's new and hot but here are a few that's I've been looking at.

Slash 4x4 Platinum (had one, enjoyed it)
Axial Bomber (looks good a mix of crawl and speed)
Axial ScX10 ( had one, one that I miss the most and the one I spent the most money on lol
Axial Deadbolt (had one wanted to do more to it)
Aarma Granite (I think that's what's it's called)
Proline Pro Mt

These are off the top of my head I'm leaning towards the MTS for the clearance and looks but I am abit of an Axial fanboy lol

What do you guys think? Or is there anything else that I should look at in your opinion?

Cheers guys

Hey mate, ssd only shut down probably six months ago, it wasnt being used, so there was no point keeping it going. Steve did offer for anyone who wanted to take it over, but no one stepped up.

As for a small scale car, i see there is a new scx10 2 out now, that might be worth a look.

Yeah, every forum is slow, even rctech is very quiet, facebook is killing forums unfortunately and there isnít anything that can be done about it.

Anyway, kit form cars are always the best, at least in my opinion, because the teach you to build/rebuild the cars. I havent seen the ock rey, but pretty much anything from losi is good quality

Wow that's shit so much useful info for people to access slowly dissapearing :(

yeah I loved building the kits when I used to do it, I'm now seriously looking at the RR10 Bomber as I can build it into an all purpose with that 2 speed tranny lol. There is one thing I remember though is that you can always spend too much money in this hobby lol

Well when you want to go from being free to charging $399 per year, that will happen....

I think traxxas got brought out by someone, cant recall who. So its probably something to do with that

I actually just found out there in a legal battle with Hobbico about some patent infringement and that's why tower has dropped them all together...

It's all good I contacted my local hobby store and they have a big traxxas shipment due in 2 weeks, so it gives me time to think of what I want to go down with.

I have two paths in my mind at this stage and they are:

1. Buy a Bomber and Go crazy with the build, talking vanquish axles/wheels everything with a holmes hobbies Brushless setup its looking close to $1500 but would I want to beat it up with all the pretty stuff on it lol.
2. Buy a Slash 4x4 Platinum as well as a standard 4x4 that way I have 1 rig for me and 1 rig for friends/family GF to bash and have fun with me and just beat the crap out of them for fun. Approx $1300 with getting lipos etc.

Desicions Desicions .....
