Im pretty sure the meshing is done with a 74 count, i.e pinion and spur teeth count equal 74. 17/57, 18/56, 19/55, etc

Ahh ok sweet makes sense. Sort of thought that but wasn't 100% sure.

Taking it for a burn today at one of the local 4x4 spots. Then she'll be on the shelf getting a full makeover 👌

Alright fellas. Gave her about a whole tanks worth of running over the weekend. Now that I've got to see what it's like to drive one it's definitely the most fun rc I've ever owned!

The first thing I need to get sorted is the throttle servo. I have killed 3 servos now over the weekend. I don't know what is going on with them? Has any one else had the same issue?

Cheers

Are you using a lipo with 6v servos?

Just a 4300mah nihm receiver battery (same as stock just more mah)

Throttle servo was a standard hpi one, then a better one from toyworld, then another shitty sort of one.  Yeah they aren't the best but thought they would do the job just being throttle.

I have a bluebird one coming from hobbyking, a servo that I used to use and worked well so hopefully I'll have a bit of luck with that

Battery should be fine but i would be checking the ratings of the servos.
Are they burning out or stripping gears?

Think its 15kg or more they should be rated at for the braking side of things.

Yeah that's probably the issue. There burning out. Hopefully when I get this other one it might be right

Look at either a hitec or savox servo, they will be your best bet

Just bought a Savox sc-0251mg servo as that's all toyworld have so I'll see how it goes. Also have a bluebird servo here also so have 2 now so fingers crossed.

Also do any of you guys run a lipo as your receiver battery? Was thinking something like these in there. Want something with plenty of power as I don't really want my receiver battery failing and yeah driving off on me lol. I know you gotta be careful not to over discharge them but they last ages.

Or am I better off running with something like this?

Upgrade your steering servo and go lipo.I've got the killer rc lipo and the difference was a massive improvement in steering power and response

For ease of charging, I have stayed with NiMh rx packs 5000 mah. Just plug charger in thumbsup Lipo's need to be taken out

Cheers for the info fellas. Threw the savox servo in today and gave it about half a tank of fuel through it, (well until it decided to spit a dogbone pin). And the servo is holding up fine so fingers crossed it's solved.

What size spur should I be looking at getting. Or am I better off counting the number of teeth myself?  The one that's on there isn't looking to shabby.

Should be a 57t spur if its standard mate.
