Howdy
« on: November 03, 2016, 09:42:25 PM »
Hi all,

Been lurking for a while.

Wanting to get into 5th scale. I've been in the hobby for a year but only running 8th scale electric, just bashing.

I have some 8th scale electric cars ( vorza and kraton).

From what I have been reading losi 5 seems to be the gold standard. However if you have 2300 to spend would you go for a stock losi or buy a cheaper clone and use the difference to upgrade some key parts.

Also wondering if I did get a stock losi what upgrades does it need out of the box if any. Any suggestions on where to buy? I am in brisbane.

Appreciate the help

Hi Dizzy,

Losi or Clone, you generally end up doing the same upgrades on both just a little faster with the clones.
If you can wait that long QORLS will be having a race meet on the 20th of Nov at their track at Belmont rifle range, its a good idea to come down and talk to the guys and see for yourself.
If you're not that patient you can buy a car and come race with us :).

Pete does have a lot of knowledge and will help steer you in the right direction.

Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll have a ball doing it.

Welcome to LSD....
