ty guys im keen as to get one of these animals
i will have to come to the belmont track and look at what is running and what is going to fit in with my budget
cause i dont wont to buy something and cant race it with you boys
but i dont wont a cheap S**t box that is breaking all the time

so i put it to you locals in brisbane what to buy and were from
im looking for spares avalibilty
fuel needs as in type of fuel needed
a desent radio that will do the job for now
a kill switch ive been reading about that sounds grouse
i have had over the years many a run away car due to flat batterys and the like so it a kill switch is def must.

any thing i should look out for??
stay away from certain models?? in cars and radios??

is the second hand market a good starting spot or start with a new one?

sorry so many questions to ask

HPI and Losi are good, depends if you want 4WD or 2WD......

A good budget option is a second hand Baja with some upgraded bits for strength.
Losi seem to be pretty robust as well without breaking the bank (too much)
I'm not sure if the clubs Baja is up and running yet but either option are easy to get parts and fun to race.
The older I get, the bigger the toys........

Well Peter loads of questions

New or 2nd depends on budget plus there has been some unreal deals on here lately, plus a good 2nd hand should have some upgrades already done.

fuel I use 98octane only cause I fill my fpv at the same time,95octane be fine as for oil I use Castrol xr77 but can't get it anymore so next bottle will be bel-ray H1-R any good brand will do mate

As for kill switch love my killer bee not the bee killer clone copy.

Radio gear futaba I would say are the best airtronics are good just stay away from spectrum. a Futaba 4pl a great starter if you can score a cheap 4pk get that

As for cars if I say wat I think this will stir the pot and steer thread off topic. So best to keep my mouth shut I think. just come past track and have a talk to guys about there rides be best thing.

As for parts pete from aussie hobbies can sort you out if he aint got it he can get it.
