Running larger tires
« on: July 19, 2015, 08:45:45 PM »
Hey guys Iv got a pretty standard 30.5cc baja buggy that I have put a short course body on.  Now I have put larger wheels on it the 195x70 mx , and I have noticed that I am bogging down in the low end, once she gets up to speed she flys but it quite sluggish off the mark.
Now I knew this could be a issue with larger wheels but is little worse than I would have hoped. Now I am pretty sure I'm not the first guy to experience this so I would like to know what the other guys have done, does it just need a refund or gear changes or what.  Any input would be greatly appreciated guys.
Really dig the site by the way great to have this resource.
Thanks

What Rpm clutch spring are you using?
Fit a 8000rpm clutch spring, it will get the revs up a bit higher before take off
Also  change the pinion gear to 16/58 so it gives More low down but you will lose a little top end
