1/4 Scale Project
« on: July 01, 2015, 07:14:11 AM »
  Hi guys,
Just thought i'd share the beginnings of a project i am starting to undertake.   Started off 2 years ago when i made payment for the engine,  this has only just now turned up.   So now the long slow process can start.
Was it worth  the wait for the engine ?   Well you make your own thoughts on that.
Still trying to source bits and pieces for it all, so bare  with me on this  build.   Also going to machine out the plug for the AC Cobra,  that will be the fun part.
Enjoy the pics
Mick

Why the wait,  Well it has taken that long to get it made,  that and along with the 70 odd other engines that Gary Conley was building at the same time.
This purchase was a impulse buy back 2 years ago,  where i was going on a spending splurge in anything RC,  for the first 6 months i was pretty pumped up with the project,  when it hit 1 year i thought it would come any day.   Then once it hit 14 months i kind of forgot about it (  as i have quite a few other projects on )  untill about a week ago when i got a email from him saying my engine was finished  and was to be shipped in the next few days.   Now you can imagine the excitement .....
Fortunately i purchased it when the Aussie dollar was $1.10 USD,  and before Gary had put his prices up,  if i was to buy it now i stagger to think ...
So that was why the 2 year wait.
To couple this project up, i am also building a 1/2 scale AC Cobra out of Quad bike bits.   Am thinking on providing a Chassis and Body Kit at a later date.
Thanks for your interest guys,  i will try to keep you all updated with the progress as it happens.
Regards Mick

Think it was around $8500,  buy it now days and it is more like $18000.
I am doing the effigy ,  just waiting to get some more funds to get the rims and tyres before I decide on the actual size of the body,  it will be more like 3.5 scale ,  rims will be 6" dia x 4" wide.
About to machine out the chassis soon,  that will be abit of work.

Well,
After I sold the engine 2 years ago, I have bought it back again and will be continuing the build .
Stay tuned, all though this will be a lengthy build, and things may not happen as quick as id have liked, it will get done this time.
Been building a 2/3 scale AC cobra in the meantime running a Busa motor,  so you may say I have been busy elsewhere.
