hi fellas,i just bought a fid racing ackerman link for my losi5 and the threads on the bolts that came with it are a fine thread both are 5mm can I just retap the plastic ? thanks in advance for any ideas.

Best thing to do would be get the right bolts.
Retapping the plastic is not a good idea.

Re tapping plastic is a very bad idea..

I've got a team chase ackerman on my losi and the bolts that go straight through were tight but still went through. They also come with nylock locking nuts.
The standard ackerman screws have a nice habit of working loose which normally gets people to upgrade the ackerman. All the people I know with upgraded ackerman arms haven't had the plastic fail. 
I'd fit the bolts that came with the kit...
