5IVET front centre drive shaft pin
« on: August 17, 2014, 02:55:54 PM »
g'day fella's
Got a question, can the  rear pin on the OEM front centre shaft be replaced, the one driven by centre diff.
Trying to get my grubbies onto PhatDad stuff is very hard atm.
My rooster full mod 31.5 is wearing the pin(and cups) rapidly. Can the pin be removed and replaced easily enough.Bit of heat on the shaft and new pin in the freezer maybe???or is replacement new complete shaft the easier answer until I can secure some phatdad gear.

Cheers

I'm pretty sure they are pressed in

Give it some heat and tap it out

First cut the pin close to  the shaft with a dremel. Most of the time the pin isn't only worn, but also deformed. Then use a bicycle chain press to remove the pin.

I have replaced that pin a few times, it is just pressed in, it will come out without heating it up.

The modified RC booted brake disk kit really helps with the ware of the pin it almost stops it with stock drive shaft
