20t to 19t in baja gearbox. Confused???
« on: August 05, 2014, 08:38:41 PM »
Ok hopefully someone can clear this up for me, how can you change from the 20t 5b gear to the 19t 5t gear in the gearbox without changing anything else? You can't move the centre of the gear to adjust the gear mesh between the drive gear and the idler gear, the pitch can't be different or the gears won't mesh properly so the 19t should be smaller in diameter so either the mesh with the 19t is going to be loose or it's going to  be tight with the 20t???

you put the 19 or the 20 on the shaft which ever you are changing from or to, and put it in the gearbox mate it is that easy they work thumbsup

No worries,  im looking at building the 5t with a kraken cage and a few other bits and pieces to strengthen it up so its pretty heavy,  ive got a stock zenoah 320 which is nearly new going in it for the moment,  I still need to work out which pipe to run on it,  but the reason I was looking at dropping to the 19t was to help give it some bottom end, what do you think?

Ok ill leave it for now, I can always change it later, have you got any recommendations on how many tooth pinion and spur to run? & what pipe fits in the cage with no clearance issues and works well on a stock g320? Thanks.

Stu is selling a Ceramic coated Luna pipe. fits the TC cage nice, good pipe but very, very loud. Sounds like a 125 MX'er

Thanks Craig,  I was interested in the pipe till you said it was very loud,  my neighbors already hate me, might have something to do with the fact they don't like my 550 husaberg at 5am every morning,  oh well. And I haven't got a husky 250 but I bought your edge hydro off you, I also contacted you when my young bloke got ripped off majorly on a second hand baja 5b he bought seeing if you had any spares you wanted to get rid of.
