SS Armour - Stainless chassis
« on: July 16, 2013, 07:50:42 AM »
Ok I have made up some 2mm 404 Grade stainless steel chassis if anyone is interested (yes they are the right hand). They are Laser cut and have a 2mm thick front reinforcing plate spot welded. These are a very strong chassis. There are no threads fitted so you will have to use nuts where required. Postage within Aus is $17.
The SOLID chassis is a heavy beast at 1.3kg's and will cost $65 plus post
The (slightly) lightened chassis weighs in at 1.05kg's and cost $80 plus post

As per usual any constructive feedback is most welcome.

What would the chances of a shorty version of the light weight chassis being made. Would be very interested.

I thought about it Fallout but it is VERY hard to beat the Scorpion kit that comes with everything you need. They are pretty awesome IMO.

I could make one but you would then still have to source the other bits. Let me know if your still interested and I'll work it out. thumbsup

Would be interested in a while. Scorpion sounds great but it aint the same as a ss quality product. Am willing to chase  the radio and servo mounts to keep it in oz.

Cant you use a tfe radio box eliminator bracket thingy ?

Or even throw a symsteer in it and everything is contained in 1 unit and instead of using 3 servos use a normal brake throttle setup and use the 3rd servo location to mount your radio box and battery

I can vouch for the toughness of the SS Armour chassis. I have the solid version and IMO I have some some pretty hard crashes, (I know, without pics no one believes me) way harder the relatively minor bump that busted my original stock chassis and the SS chassis has held up perfectly.

I'd also grab a shorty chassis if you ever made one Brad.
